The Marais is definitely one of the luxury tables in Madagascar. Installed on one of the largest building of the capital, it offers a magnificent view of the city. In addition, its cuisine is led by the biggest name in Malagasy gastronomy, known around the world: Chef Lalaina.
The restaurant Le Marais is located in the Ankorondrano district on the hydrocarbon road. It is located in the Atrium glass building, opposite the BNI Madagascar bank.
If you come from the city center, Ankorondrano is normally 5 minutes away. Count around 10,000 Ar (2,5 €) taxi. If you come from the outskirts of the city, joining the Marais will cost you between Ar 12,000 and Ar 20,000, or between € 3 and € 5.
Very modern, the restaurant is elegantly decorated: wooden floor, tables with white tablecloth, velvet chair, a touch of greenery with bamboo branches, bay window to offer a magnificent view.
The restaurant prepares dishes of the world based on fresh and / or homemade products. A blend of flavors and know-how that honors local products: zebu meat, artisanal seafood products, spices that are famous in Madagascar: wild pepper, pink berry, vanilla, cocoa, etc.
The restaurant also has an extensive wine list. Do not hesitate to inquire about the best flood that will accompany your dish.
Above all, its know-how and its will to promote the products of the Malagasy terroir and the local production. Among other things, it is one of the places in the city to serve the second Malagasy black gold: Mantasoa caviar.
Every Saturday, the restaurant organizes a unique concept of restoration on the island: you serve in the kitchen. The Chef takes the opportunity to give you a demonstration of his cooking and tasting.
The dishes are from 25,000 Ar (6,5 €). Saturday in the kitchen will cost 85,000 Ar per person, or about 22 €, water, coffee and infusions included. During the events organized by the restaurant, the children's meal is half-price.
Le Marais welcomes you from Tuesday to Saturday from 12:00 to 14h for lunch and from 19:00 to 21:30 for dinner. The restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday.
