Ranomafa Park is one of the most important and renowned parks of Madagascar. It was born in 1991 following the discovery of the golden bamboo lemure or Golden Hapalemur. Covered by the rainforest of Antsinana, the national park is home to twelve species of lemurs, 115 bird species including about thirty strictly forest, 90 species of butterflies, nearly a hundred species of amphibians, sixty species of reptiles namely lizards and chameleons, nearly 30 species of mammals and also fish encountered in streams flowing through the park.
The baths of Ranomafana
At the heart of this unique fauna and flora, the Ranomafana thermal pool is famous in the region. Its eponymous hot springs in the hot water region attract tourists from all over the world. The very old Ranomafana spa, which is still in operation, boils down to a large swimming pool of about 20 meters filled with natural ferruginous hot water at 38 °. These thermal baths reveal great healing abilities and bring benefits in various conditions such as rheumatism. These springs are simply from nearby hills.
